# E4 · Your role assignment

**Goal:** Run a full functional analysis and produce one recommendation your
group can stand behind.

**Time:** 50 minutes

This is the main exercise on the role track. It replaces E5 through E8; do
not try to do both routes in one session.

**Timebox:** 10 minutes to map your sources and list what each can and
cannot establish; 20 minutes to work through conflicts and open questions
with your assistant; 15 minutes to write the recommendation in your output
template; 5 minutes to check every citation and prepare your two-minute
presentation. Your assignment page may suggest a slightly different split
for your role; follow that one if it differs.

**What good looks like:**
- The finished output template is fully filled in, with a source ID behind
  every material claim.
- Every contradiction the sources contain for your role is named, not
  smoothed over.
- At least one place where the group corrected or rejected something the
  assistant produced is written down, with why.
- The recommendation names a decision your assignment asks for (for
  example go, no-go, or go with conditions) and an owner for every blocking
  question.
- The result fits in a two-minute presentation.

**Verify by hand:**
1. Open every cited source ID and check the claim it is attached to.
2. Check that no product limitation has been rewritten as a capability.
3. Check that every blocking question has a named human owner, not "TBD".
4. Time your presentation once before the room reconvenes.

**Common AI mistakes:**
- Treating an internal opinion or draft as if it were a confirmed customer
  fact.
- Resolving a contradiction quietly instead of reporting it.
- Producing a recommendation before the group has reviewed the source map,
  even after being told not to.
- Filling a gap in the sources with plausible-sounding detail instead of
  flagging it as unanswered.

**Stretch:** Turn your final prompt sequence into a short, reusable
checklist another group in your function could follow on a future
opportunity with similarly imperfect sources.

**Hand-in:** Your completed output template, presented in two minutes using
the shared template's seven headings.
